Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle
What makes this bank unlike any other?
“I grew up in Mountain View, and I remember when it was a modest, but safe, working-class community. Today, it has the lowest percentage of homeownership of any neighborhood in Anchorage. We want to build housing and help create a community that appeals to homebuyers. And in the process, we’ll promote the stability that comes with homeownership.”
This is Carol Gore’s story, one of many you will find in the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle’s Report of Affordable Housing and Community Investment Initiatives. Stories like Carol’s bring the bank’s work to life, and storytelling is the heart of their communications.
Always focused on real people and communities, Methodologie’s communications for the bank are refreshingly straightforward, with little or no jargon, and the kind of innovative design that earns recognition from top design competitions—Graphis, The Black Book AR100, Communication Arts, Applied Arts, and others regularly honor the bank’s reports with their highest awards.
In addition to Methodologie’s work on the Seattle Bank’s annual reports, we began our longtime relationship with the bank by developing its brand strategy, identity, tagline, and a suite of marketing communications. We recently refreshed the bank’s brand look—periodically reviewing a brand is good practice—but the focus has stayed right where it should: telling stories about the people and communities who benefit from the bank’s work.
