Communication Arts features AIGA exhibit design

We could pretend we don’t like the attention, but who are we kidding?

Communication Arts selects an example of outstanding design work from around the country for special attention, and this week we made the cut. The venerable design magazine featured our design for 365, the showcase for the winners of AIGA’s annual competition, on its home page today. Our work, and an archive of past features can be found in the Exhibit section of Commarts.com.

Our design adapted painting equipment and supplies (such as buckets, ladders, and roller trays) as construction materials, instead of using them for their intended purpose. This preserved the equipment and supplies in like-new condition so AIGA could donate them after the show to Publicolor, a nonprofit that mentors at-risk youth while teaching them commercial painting skills. AIGA has always donated leftover materials and supplies to a nonprofit after its exhibitions, but this method increased the benefit of the post-show donation. (Read more about the project.)
